Well, it’s November again.

That means it’s time for the insanity that is NaNoWriMo.

Since Gem and I have mentioned before that we’re a little on the insane side, we’ve both signed up to participate again this year.

We’ll be posting here periodically, but if you want to check our progress, you can take a look at the NaNoWriMo Progress page.

Anyone else doing NaNo this year?

Things have been a little slow here for the last couple of months, but that should be changing.? We have a few new projects and creative endeavors that are about to get started and we’ll be keeping you updated as they progress - or don’t.

Expect to see more craft projects, along with writing, cooking and anything else we can come up with.

Like last year, we’ll keep you updated? on NaNoWriMo progress - November 1st is rapidly approaching and I know that I haven’t done any planning yet!

Keep an eye out and hopefully our efforts will inspire your creativity.

Hello Everyone!

You’re probably wondering if we gave up on the Creative Adventures podcast.? Well, we haven’t? - life just got in the way for awhile.? I’m not going to go into detail here, just hang in there and expect a new ‘cast next Wednesday.

I’m about to embark on a couple of creative adventures and I’ll be chronicling them in the podcast and on my personal blog, as well as posting occasionally highlights and progress reports here on the YourCre8tivity site.

Now, instead of waiting around - go find yourself a creative adventure of your own!

Hello everyone - I know a weekend post is unusual, but we wanted to let you know that we’re attempting to upgrade the site to the latest version of WordPress today. So if something breaks, just hang in there and we’ll fix it as soon as the dust clears. We’re also trying to get the site set up for a few new projects.

So keep your fingers crossed for us! And keep your eyes and ears peeled for new stuff!

We thought we’d let you know about some of the upcoming posts we have planned.

Most of our posts have ended up being writing related, which was not our intent. Our plans are to provide you with more posts about non-writing related activities. Here are some of the things we’re currently working on.

Quantum Physics and Creativity

I watched a movie from my Netflix queue this weekend and was surprised by what I saw - Did you know there’s a connection between Quantum Physics and Creativity? I’ll be posting about it later this week.

Beading Projects

• Pictures of a quick project I did for Gemini and to get rid of some old beads
• Pictures of some in-process beaded bracelets
• Some ideas for upcoming beading projects

Textile Projects

• A cross-stitch project I’m working on for a friend
• One or more of many unfinished crochet projects

Kitchen Related Projects

• I’m about a third of the way through my first brewing project - a Honey Brown Ale. I’ll post more about it in about a week when it’s time to bottle.
• Gemini is working on some recipes for posting - though I’ve been informed that she refuses to post her famous Enchilada recipe!

Future Projects

• Graphic and 3D works-in-progress
• Sewing projects
• Audio projects
• New and first-time craft projects

Most of these future projects are waiting on my new computer. At the moment, it’s not working properly, but as soon as it is, I’ll start working on some of these.

It’s hard to believe, but Your Cre8tivity’s first post was one year ago today.

Where We Started

When Gemini and I started this blog, we weren’t exactly sure what we were doing. We knew that we wanted to inspire and provoke creativity - not just for the people who already thought of themselves as creative, but also for people who didn’t think of themselves as creative. Just how we were going to do that, we weren’t sure.

We started with a couple of prompts a week and an occasional article about creativity. We got some feedback from readers. And it was wonderful knowing that we had helped a few people rediscover their creativity.

Where We’ve Been

We hit a few bumps in the road. Learning how to use the blog and which plugins to use was interesting and sometimes frustrating. Finding Quick Step prompts was, at times, difficult - especially when our creative spirits drooped. Mundane, real-life events got in the way - things like both of us buying houses, making unscheduled trips and illness. The occasional articles got lost along the way.

Where We’re Going

Your regularly scheduled Quick Step prompts will continue to be posted every day. Articles on creativity will return - hopefully on a weekly basis. In addition, each week you’ll see a post highlighting the posts and prompts from a year ago that week.

How’s Your Creativity Journey Going?

Ah, loyal readers, how we have abandoned you this week.? *le sigh*

Things have been busy here in creativity land.? Edge has been busting her butt and wearing her fingers to the nubs working on the NaNoEdMo site, (National Novel Editing Month) and it looks pretty suave too.? She’d the message board administrator and does the behind the scenes coding to keep everything working.? Set up the pages so you can log the hours you’ve been editing.? So if you’ve got that novel on the shelf that just needs some fine tuning head over to NaNoEdMo and get involved.

Me?? I’ve been working on a few things of my own.? Not quite as helpful as Edge’s time consuming tasks, but I’m happy with them.? It’s keeping me sane at least and with EdMo beginning today I can work on that as well.

I may toss something up tomorrow just to get things rolling again but if all else fails things will get back up to speed on Monday.

Happy New Year everyone!

Wow! It’s hard to believe that YourCre8tivity has been around for 7 months now. Gemini and I are quite happy with how our little experiment has done so far.

Having looked back on 2006, we’ve decided to be a little more ambitious for 2007. While we don’t know exactly where YourCre8tivity will go in the coming year, here are some of the things we’re working on.

• Continued Quick Start prompts every Monday through Friday, except on holidays
• At least one creativity article every week, beginning the week of January 8th
• Posts and articles on creativity in art, crafts, life in general, and more at least once a month
• Contests (if we can wrangle up a few prizes)
• Group writing projects
• Updates on our projects

One of our biggest hopes is to see more participation from our readers. We want to see and hear about the creative things that you’re doing. Post comments and link us to your creative endeavors or email and tell us about them!

Here’s to a creative and exciting 2007!
